The other day we were talking about our favourite character of the book.

Was it the Baby Bear?

Was it Daddy Bear?

Was it Mummy Bear?

Was it  Goldilocks?

Almost everyone liked baby bear the best!!!!

At the end of the book Goldilocks runs away. We wanted to find her. So, we went to the playground and we shouted: “Where are you Goldilocks? Where are you Goldilocks?” And we found Goldilocks!!!!

She was hiding in the playground.

We read the book “Goldilocks and the three

 bears”. We also watched the story and we played the story!!

Characters: Goldilocks, Mummy Bear, Daddy 

Bear and Baby Bear!!

WATER CYCLE GAME!!!!

What is a cloud??? Can we create a cloud in our class??? YES!!!!!!!! We did it last Thursday!!!!!!!

 We went to the class. There was a stove, a pot,  a glass, some cotton, tongs and water.

First we had to plug the stove.

T-Is it hot or cold (the stove)?

G- Cold!

T: Let's plug it so the stove will heat the pot.

T-Ok. And what do we do now? G- What is this? (the stove)

T-It is used to heat up water.

T: Is the pot full or empty? Let's check it!

T-How can we create a cloud with these material? G-You can put the pot in the water! T- Let's try! It doesn't work! G-Why don't we put water in the pot? Is the water hot or cold? 
G:Cold!

T-So we have to turn it on, right?-Yes! T-What do you think is going to happen? G-The water will be hot. 

We gave them some cotton so they could touch it. 
T:What is this white object?
G: Cotton.
T:Is it soft? G: Yes!
Is it dry? G:Yes!!

G: LOOOOOOOOK!!!!!! There are bubbles!!!! And smoke!!!!
There is smoke because the water is hot!!!!!

T-THAT'S TRUE!!! What is these smoke?? G-Water! T-Water? but it is not liquid!!!! G-Yes, because it changed!  T-Ah! It changed! G-And there are bubbles!!! T-Let me put the cotton on the smoke. What do you think it will happen? G- It will burn! T-Let's check!

T: Look! There is a lot of smoke!!!!!!!!!!! Do you want to put your hand on it? Is it hot or cold?

G- No T-Look! If I squeeze the cotton.... what is happening?

G-It has water!!! T- How is it possible?
G- Because it is the water in the smoke!
T-Ah! There is this glass here. What can we do with it? G- We can put it on the smoke! T- Ok! But first, is it cold or hot? G-Cold. G-There is water on the glass!!! And it is the smoke water!

T- Can you explain what we did today?

G- The stove heats up the water. Then the smoke appears. The smoke is water that changed. If we put the cotton it takes the water from the smoke. If we put the glass as  the glass is cold the water in the smoke changes to normal water and some drops appear on the glass and it starts rainning!!!

T-So you could make rain today! Congratulations Gira-sols!!

T- Do you want to come to the science class some other day?

G-YES!!!

T- Ok then! We will do more experiments!

T- Finally, have you ever seen the process we've discovered today?

G-Yes! The sun heats the earth. The water from the rivers go up and make clouds. Ans sometimes it rains.

Last week we created our own cloud using white crayons, wax or chalk on a blue paper! They are so good at painting!!

Two weeks ago we read the book Little Cloud by Eric Carle.

This book is about a cloud that drifts away from the group of

 clouds to become a giant cloud and changes into many different

 things! It changes into a sheep, a shark, a clown, and many other

 things. At the end it returns make to the group. It is the adventure

 of a cloud!!! 

Eric Carle (born June 25, 1929) is an American designer, illustrator, and writer of children's books. He  is most famous for The Very Hungry Caterpillar, a picture book with few words that has been translated into more than 55 languages. Since it was published in 1969 he has illustrated more than 70    books, most of which he also wrote, and more than 125 million copies of his books have been sold around the world.  He won the biennial Laura Ingalls Wilder Award for his career contribution to American children's literature in 2003 

Today we got to the English class and we found a present!!!!!

We opened it and inside the present there was a book!

We first read the book.

Then we drew our own cloud! There were faces, planes, cars, lollipops....

There is a theatre in the English class and we have a lot of puppets so we played with them saying Hello to everyone!

Finally we watch the English blog, the songs, stories, the toasting sunflower seeds experiment....
We love it!!!

Welcome to the English class Gira-sols!
We divided the class into two groups and we chose a name for each group.

We are Races and Lions 

Today we had our first English class. We went to the playground in front of our class and we observed the flowers. We saw different types of flowers but we were interested in Sunflowers. There are Sunflowers there. There were sunflower seeds next to the plant.

We observed the sunflowers and the sunflowers seeds and we learnt the names.

We decided we wanted to learn more about them and

Neus tried to pull the sunflower out but she couldn’t.

-It is stuck in the ground. –said Marc. 

-It has roots. - said Teo.

Marcs helped Neus so they could pull the sunflower out of the ground.

Then we went to the class and there was a table in the middle of the class with some objects on it.   

First we washed our hands. Then we tasted the raw sunflower seeds.

-Do you like the raw sunflower seeds? Are they good or bad?

We checked if the stove was hot or cold. As it wasn’t plugged in we didn’t burn our hands.

Then we put the sunflower seeds in a plate and we added some water. After that we added salt and we mixed all together. 

Then we switched the stove on and we put the pan on it. After that we added some oil to the pan and the mixture with the sunflower seeds, the water and the salt. We let them toast and finally we tasted them! Mmmmmmm!!! We like them!!!!

We compared the raw and the toasted sunflower seeds.

-The colour is different- said Aitana.

I prefer the Toasted ones- said Arnau.

Finally we put the spare toasted sunflower seeds in a pot and we crashed them with a mortar. We discovered that if we crash the sunflower seeds we obtain oil !!!!

Congratulations Girasols!!! You are great researchers!!!!! You learnt lots of things about sunflowers and sunflowers seeds!!
